agosto 2010. Querétaro, MEXICO
It is safe to live and study in Queretaro at this present time?
Are you joking ???
Except of the danger that you fall in love with a mexican girl, it is really safe!!!
Julian-Dennis Kutteroff. HS Weingarten, Germany

Shortly, yes. Only thing that I know have happened to some students is pick pocketing.

I feel secure in Querétaro despite the ongoing warnings about other locations in México. Still, it is important to always remain vigilant about one's surroundings, carry a cell phone, guard one's belongings and only carry a small amount of cash.

Yes, I think that Queretaro is one of the safest places in México. I feel fine walking home or around town alone in the daytime. At night it is still safe, but if it is really late I get a taxi because it is still a pretty big city. I have not felt any threats or reasons here for me to even consider having to leave early.

Hello, in my opinion, yes it is safe to study in Queretaro at this time. Actually i think all of Mexico is pretty safe. I have not had a single problem and I have been here since July. The only people that have problems are the ones that do not take care of themselves. For example, get really drunk and obnoxious, and then end up losing their wallet or something along those line. But if you take care of yourself, then nothing bad will happen to you.

** Here it's my answer to your question:
Studying at Tec is really safe, actually it is one of the safest school I've ever been at; it is full of security.
Talking about the city, I think Querétaro is not a dangerous city, specially comparing to other places in Mexico; it's pretty safe. Anyway, you should be cautious like in any other big city. My recommendation is not to walk through dark streets at night alone, especially girls. Sometimes you can feel fear if you're on your own.

I feel more safe in Querétaro than i have felt in any other city I have ever lived in. Everybody is very friendly; I feel like I can walk anywhere I want to at any time. All in all I would say it’s a 10 out of 10 for safety.
Maybe for girls it is a bit less for precaution, but definitely a great city to study and live in.

During our visit to the beautiful city of Queretaro hosted by the Tec de Monterrey, we were treated with great hospitality and care. I felt very safe and comfortable in the city and of course on the campus. The students are engaged, curious and excited to be there. I look forward to visiting the Tec de Monterrey, Campus Queretaro once again in 2010.
