Internship Program
Social Internship, a living experience!
The Querétaro Campus has a long tradition of an international curriculum, offering 30% of its regular classes in English and providing international students the ability to integrate into the social life of the campus. International students at the ITESM-CQ represent more than 4% of the campus community. Our international population includes students from 26 countries and more than 400 recognized Universities from around the world.
Based on our experience and guided by the ITESM Mission 2005/15, the ITESM must “contribute to the sustainable development of the community with innovative models and systems for its educational, social, economic and political improvement.” The International Programs Department decided to utilize class materials that pursue understanding of the differences and similarities amongst people and improving the level of responsibility to shape a better world for future generations. This resulted in a carefully designed project, created by faculty closely related to social work: The Social Internship.
- Educational Objective:
To provide students with the opportunity for personal transformation that embraces a new perspective about their responsibility as world citizens. Students engage in projects designed to help social organizations thus helping them become a more involved participant in the world’s society.
- General Objective:
At the end of the program, students are expected to be able to conduct a critical analysis of the main social problems in México and the role played by nonprofit and governmental organizations regarding these problems. Students will develop a global view of the country.

Balancing theory and practice: Business Internship
Mexico’s economy is a mixed free market, and is firmly established as an upper middle-income country. It is the 11th largest economy in the world as measured by its gross domestic product and purchasing power parity. According to the latest information available from the International Monetary Fund, Mexico has the second-highest per capita Gross National Income in Latin America in nominal terms, and the highest in purchasing power parity. After the 1994 economic debacle, Mexico has made an impressive recovery, building a modern and diversified economy. Recent government administrations have also improved the country’s infrastructure and welcomed economic competition within the country’s seaports, railroads, telecommunications industry, electric power plants, natural gas distribution and airports.
The Business Faculty at Tecnológico de Monterrey – Querétaro Campus is one of the largest groups of business educators and students in México and is committed to extending the boundaries of business and education. We aim to achieve this through close relationships with professional associations, other education providers and universities, business, employers and government – across México and internationally.
Querétaro is the best option for a business internship because 20 of the most important industrial parks, including the best in Latin America, are located here.
